Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting. It’s as traditional as apple pie, rich in 100 years of American history. Simply seeing a Boy Scout or Girl Scout out in the community is a reaffirmation of what’s right in the world: practicing good values…growing morally, physically and intellectually…becoming effective leaders…and just plain having fun!
Today’s youth are confronted with a multitude of hardships and unacceptable norms. Yet most have good intentions about making responsible choices; they just need help connecting these aspirations to action.
We can help with that.
Right now, right here in the Rock River Valley, something big is happening. It’s a groundbreaking collaboration: Blackhawk Area Council Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois are coming together to share resources and space to give 40,000 area youth the tools they need to succeed.
